Arjowiggins Graphic boats sail together to represent solidarity during the International Refugees Day

Fais ton bateau - event (3)

International Refugees Day, which was launched by the United Nations in 2000, was celebrated on 20th June, 2017. French recycled papers manufacturer Arjowiggins Graphic,  contributed to the day  through the event “Built your boat” initiated by French singer Emily Loizeau. Thousands of people created boats made with Cyclus 100% recycled paper, releasing them simultaneously in the Canal de l’Ourcq in Paris. This action was to symbolise and remember the more than 10,000 migrants who have lost their lives in the Mediterranean sea since 2014.

Aurélie Soly, Marketing Manager South Europe at Arjowiggins Graphic comments: “We are proud to be associated to this creative project and help raising awareness of refugees issues. We truly believe in the companies’ social role to support underpriviledged populations whether it is concrete or symbolic like this one.”
