Reduction in the impact of production on the environment

To improve energy efficiency in the manufacturing plants, the electricity used to produce one tonne of paper has been reduced by 20% over 5 years and the consumption of fossil fuels (natural gas, steam, oil, coal) has been reduced by 12%. These achievements are the result of ongoing investments in renewable energy such as biofuel.

To preserve natural resources, Arjowiggins Graphic has implemented action plans with the objectives of reducing water consumption, optimising the treatment of effluents and introducing recycling processes that aim to reduce the consumption of raw materials and energy. The group is also using biotechnological processes, particularly for the treatment of water. In addition, the implementation of a water management policy has enabled a 30% reduction in water consumption over the last five years.

The development of eco-responsible transport enables the optimisation of delivery circuits and adoption of fuel-efficient driving etc. Preservation of air quality: a system for the recovery and condensation of flue gases has been implemented in several manufacturing plants to reduce the release of waste into the atmosphere and the consumption of fossil fuels.

Arjowiggins Graphic complies with REACH regulations which aim to provide improved protection for both human health and the environment.

Waste management: much of the packaging material used by Arjowiggins Graphic is recyclable or can be burned to provide energy.
