Arjowiggins Graphic is pleased to announce it has received OHSAS 18001 certification for its Besse-sur-Braye and Wizernes mills.
OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Advisory Services - OHSAS) demonstrates the commitment of Arjowiggins Graphic and its mills to the protection of 980 employees, numerous customers received each year at the mills, and those present on the site.
This certification is based on an international standard for managing health and safety at work. It was developed by a selection of leading trade bodies, international standards and certification bodies to address a gap where no third-party certifiable international standard existed.
OHSAS 18001 recognises the integrated management systems already validated by ISO9001 and ISO14001 certificates on the two sites.
Gilles Lhermitte, Sustainable Development Director at Arjowiggins Graphic:
"Obtaining this certification is a demonstration of work done by teams to develop a genuine effort to identify and control risks. OHSAS 18001 is an essential step to ensure best practices within the paper industry, but it also emphasis our Graphic Value of “Safety focus”. In addition, by certifying our mills through OHSAS18001, (which is a fairly new concept), we are at the forefront of industry best practice."
