Inkjet papers :
Also available is cocoon Jet, a top quality, 100% recycled, uncoated offset paper for high speed colour inkjet printing. Cocoon Jet enables you to obtain an excellent printing quality on both sides, with perfect colour execution even at very high-speeds.
Digital printing has a clear synergy with environmental advantages, reducing energy costs and emissions. Here are five examples:
- Digital presses do not use offset plates or chemicals the way offset
They don’t require film, spray powders or cleaning solvent.
- Digital presses don’t emit harmful emissions.
They don’t require the ventilation or emissions capture required of offset presses.
- Although liquid toner and inkjet presses do use “ink” that contains
very mild solvent, these presses emit little or no VOCs.
Most presses are so clean that they can be run in standard office environments.
- Digital presses can print a wide range of recycled papers.
There is now a wide range of stocks including recycled and certified papers available.
- The applications driven by digital printing are inherently green.
By making smarter use of your database, you reduce the amount of printed material you use.
These printing tips are given to help ensure you experience trouble free running and will enable you to get the very best results from your digital printer when using Arjowiggins Graphic’s papers.
This is important with most digital printing systems. Using paper sizes around A3 or Din A4, accuracy of cut and sheet squareness are more important for digital printing, for example to prevent the machine shutting off due to short sheets. Customers should always be advised to order the exact format size rather than risk cutting to a specific size themselves.
Poor toner adhesion can result in scuffing, scratches and cracking of the toner when folding, again the control of temperature and moisture are key but static electricity can also play a role. For folding sheets above 170 gsm always use pre-scoring and do not fold across the grain direction.
Is an important consideration with digital printing as the paper can get turned several times as well as stopped and started-using the wrong paper can result in jams or mis-register. Use long grain unless otherwise advised.
Many digital printing systems use the electrophotographic process, which involves melting and fixing the dry toner to the paper. The fusing of the toner to the paper occurs at high temperature and the paper can get very hot which leads to curl and ultimately paper jams. For this reason the paper is made at a specific moisture level and it is very important that all measures are taken to prevent moisture uptake by not removing the wrapping and storing in a well controlled climatic environment. To prevent curl do not leave paper unwrapped and paper must be stored away from extremes of temperatures and moisture such as open doors, windows or heaters.
