Carbon Footprint
Programme for reduction of CO2 emissions
In order to reduce its carbon footprint, Arjowiggins Graphic has committed to a long-term policy of decreasing the CO2 emissions linked to its activities by appointing an independent and recognised body, FactorX, to assess its greenhouse gas emissions. As an eco-responsible company, Arjowiggins Graphic has calculated its carbon footprint for two principal reasons:
- To help its clients to estimate their own carbon footprints,
- To draw up a plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions arising from its manufacturing processes.
In an effort to be transparent, Arjowiggins Graphic publishes its results officially in its environmental declarations.
Carbon footprint calculations are not regulated on a global or national basis and this is why Arjowiggins Graphic have selected independent and long established companies to undertake its calculations:
FactorX and ECCM (Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Management) carry out emissions assessments according to the principles of WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development), while following methodology PAS 2050, a British Standard recognised by the UK government and the IPCC Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change.
