ARJOWIGGINS GRAPHIC AT COP15

Arjowiggins Graphic was present on all fronts during the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit 2009.

"At Arjowiggins Graphic, we believe that one solution to control climate change will be based on greater use of recycled fibers, efficient use of energy, and cleaner, more efficient processes. COP15 was the right place to demonstrate in a truly global and relevant context how recycled paper and Arjowiggins Graphic respond to the challenges of environmental change and reduce emissions due to the deforestation" says Christophe André, General Manager of Arjowiggins Graphic.

As a leading producer of recycled paper in Europe and a steward of the environment, Arjowiggins Graphic believes we are responsible for preserving and protecting our natural resources. At COP15, the intention was to inform all the conference delegates how high quality sustainable paper can help tackle the challenge of climate change.

Caring for the environment is key to the Arjowiggins' corporate strategy. For years, eco-conception, sustainable forest management and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions have inevitably become essential issues. Arjowiggins Graphic was one of the first companies in the paper industry to calculate the carbon footprint of its operations.

At COP15, Arjowiggins Graphic, with over 60 years expertise of recycled paper production, was "Greener than ever" and the messages were: "Paper choices are climate choices" and "You can be green and beautiful". After COP15, Arjowiggins Graphic noted the conclusions and commitments of temperature limitation for 2050. As partner of WWF-France for the forest, Arjowiggins Graphic welcomes the agreement on deforestation and will follow, with vigilance, the future commitments of countries to limit greenhouse gas emissions.

More than ever, the reduction of CO2 emissions, consumption of fossil fuels and water consumption will be in the heart of Arjowiggins Graphic's strategy.

See Christophe Andre speaking at COP15 by clicking here.
